Community Strategic Plan

The Community Strategic Plan (CSP) for French Ontario is the long-term vision that the community has adopted in order to valorize the French fact from 2011 to 2016.
This vision is the vision of a dynamic community that wants to ensure its linguistic, economic, social and community vitality. Our community is flourishing; its origins are multiple, diverse and inclusive. We have great things to accomplish in order to become more and more visible and recognized as an essential component of civil society in Ontario.

The collective Francophone population of Ontario is thus finding a way to reach its ambitions, especially the ambition of securing positive and sustainable impacts for all, regardless of origins or social setting. Together, we are making progress and determining the future of our language with a shared strategy. We are creating a climate that will foster valorization of the French fact, by building the capacity of Ontario’s francophones and their institutions for living a rich and dynamic life in French.

As lead coordinator, the Assemblée de la francophonie de l’Ontario has launched a major campaign to raise awareness of and explain the CSP across the province, so as to encourage the whole community to buy into this project. We are using promotional tools designed so that all members of the community can understand the ambitious, optimistic vision of the CSP. This major campaign is also an opportunity to encourage them to get involved in order to advance the French fact in the province.

A wave will sweep Ontario, born from a single direction and with a single purpose: to ensure that our language and culture are passed on to future generations, to expand the francophone space in all regions of Ontario, to promote the visibility and develop the use of French throughout the province, to contribute to the flourishing of our community as well as the betterment of Ontario society and, finally, to build our capacity to act and grow in every area of development.

We are working with community radio and newspapers as well as all strategic partners such as TFO, Radio-Canada, Rogers, etc. We are increasing our presence on social media. We need to make the messages of the Franco-Ontarian community seen and heard!

We will occupy the field with this vision, get people talking, make it a topic of public and political debate, at every level of government.

To succeed, we need to be able to count on the many forms of richness in the community, on its vitality and leadership, in order to make concrete gains.

Everyone needs the chance to understand that he or she has a role to play in his or her part of the country: the role of strengthening and perpetuating our language and culture, so that in 10 or 20 years, our children and grandchildren will continue to speak French.
